Pat, No, I don't have a copy of his will, but there may be one, I haven't checked yet to see. I found the information about his estate in the Andreas files. I am researching my husband's Millers, and have traced a connection to these Kershaw Millers through Drury Miller who lived in Pickens Co Al. There are several documents mentioned in the Andreas files which I have been able to connect to these Hanging Rock SC Millers.

The information in the files about George's estate reads thus: "GEORGE MILLER, his estate Admst 1 Dec 1823 by COL.DAVID MILLER and his bond sg. by Thomas J Shannon and John Fletcher of Beaver Creek. By a deed it is known that the wife of this GEORGE MILLER was named RACHEL MILLER (Deed Book K, page 222) Inventory of the large estate made by Sameul P. Harmon, John Truesdale, John Shropshire, Henry Shrook and John P Clanton. No list of Heirs. Heavy buyers at the sale were as follows:
COL DAVID MILLER
ABIJAH MILLER
George Jones
John Fletcher
ELY MILLER
ROBERT MILLER
John Ingram
Each of these bought so heavily at the sale that seemingly they were sons and sons in law of this GEORGE MILLER. With this much money, there is likely an Equity that will show the names of heirs."

I found a listing at Rootsweb for a George Miller who was born in 1746, supposedly in Pickens Co Al (which was Indian territory then), whose daughter Sarah married John Ingram. I think that is the John Ingram mentioned here, husband of George's daughter Sarah. The Col David Miller is mentioned elsewhere in the Andreas files, and was married to Sarah Cunningham. I believe that this David was a son of George also. John Fletcher was, I think, the husband of George's daughter Grace, and Ely Miller was probably a son, married to Elinor Knox. These four - Sarah. David, Grace, and Ely - are the only children of his that I have positively identified so far.

If George was born in 1746 and married Rachel b 1762 in Kershaw Co around 1810 or so, then she would not have been the mother of any of these children. I haven't identified George's wife Rachel's last name, but possibly she was this Rachel Payne. There are some more references to Rachel Miller who was married to George in the files, as well as this one.

I would appreciate any further information on George Miller if you have it. Also, where was Rachel born, who were her parents? I think these Millers may have been in North Carolina before moving to Kerhsaw. One of them Martha Miller Bradford, was born in Orange Co NC in 1761. My husband's branch was also in Tn and southeast Ga and Pickens and Calhoun Al.
