The 1850 Dale Co, AL census for John H. Spears shows an Ann Spears age 63 b. NC The 1860 Dale Co, AL census for William H. Spears shows an Anne Wiggins age 74 born NC. William H. Spears is listed on the census next to John H. Spears family. New information states that there is an estate in Kershaw County, SC for one John J. Spears who died in 1842 and names heirs: wife Anna Spears, son John H. Spears, resident of Kershaw Co, SC, son Dempsey G. Spears, resident of Butler Co, AL and son William H. G. Spears, resident of Coffee Co, AL. I find a marriage notation in Alabama on 28 MAR 1852 for one Daniel B. Wiggins marrying one Anne Spears. This Daniel Wiggins is buried in Mt. Pleasant (AKA Wiggins) Cemetery in Dale County, AL as follows: Wiggins, Daniel 1780-21 SEP 1855 Wiggins, Suzanne Truitt 1782-16 AUG 1851 (apparently his first wife) From all this we glean John H. Spears on 1850 Dale is the brother of William H. Spears of 1860 Dale and that the Ann/Anne residing with them is their mother, who apparently died after 1860, in Alabama (probably Dale county), after marrying the widow Daniel B. Wiggins in 1852, following the death of his wife Suzanne. I am now seeking a copy of the estate/probate of John J. Spears who died intestate on 31 DEC 1842 in Kershaw County, AL according to notes. Estate file 64-2288. Does anyone have a copy of this estate/probate to share? Thx! Lisa Notify Administrator about this message?
