Robin, I still don't know a whole lot about this George Miller, but not for lack of trying. I am not certain where he was born, but think it was around 1746. He was probably in Kershaw SC by the 1790's. I still don't know who was the mother of his children. I think that I have seen the Perry name in some of the information about him. I haven't done much on this family for several months. As I said, I was at a standstill for a while, and started on another one of my families. I also have a lot going on right now that is limiting my research time, but I am definitely intrigued. Even the mention of Kentucky is of interest. I found some deeds in Monroe Tn regarding iron mining, that mentioned the Tellico Iron Works, and involved a William Miller of Kentucky. These documents also mentioned the Harris name and George Herd (a George Heard was a good friend of my William Miller in Screven Ga). I still haven't figured out if these deeds are for my Millers or not, but possibly they could be.
Also, and probably trivial, but Andrew Lewis Miller's oldest son was named John (Drury named his only son Richard). Andrew's other sons were Drury, George Washington, William Thomas, Andrew Jackson, James P, and David S Miller.
I do know that some of George of Kershaw's descendants did move on into Mississippi, some to Arkansas.
I haven't found any connection thus far to the Stephen Decatur Miller bunch, but I haven't ruled that out yet either.
