Ok Dean. I've pegged your people.
T. Alexander Spears was born circa 1870 in NC. I don't have a death date for him, or parents listed.
Margaret E. West, called Maggie, was born circa 1872 in Buffalo, Kershaw Co. SC, and died circa 1950 in Kershaw Co.
Maggie was the daughter of John Alexander West and his 1st wife, Rebecca S. Gay. They were married circa 1870.
John was born 8 Mar 1853 in Westville, Kershaw Co. SC, and died 6 Nov 1923 in Cassatt, Kershaw Co. He was the son of Henry Richard Clyburn West and Susan Hunter, and had 9 other siblings.
Rebecca was born 8 Mar 1855 in Pleasant Hill, Lancaster Co. SC, and died 6 Jun 1922 in Cassatt, Kershaw Co. She was the daughter of Nathaniel B. Gay and Margaret J. Williams.
They are both buried at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery in Cassatt.
John and Rebecca had 9 children. After her death, he married again to Rebecca Nelson. Their marriage was brief, because John died in 1923. She died in 1941, and they didn't have any children together.
The children of T. Alexander Spears and Margaret E. West are the same as the ones you posted, except I have Thornie A. Spears as the sons name. That is the way it is listed on his gravestone. And I have West Spears, called Wesley, because West Spears is name given on his Social Security record.
Thornie A. Spears was born 10 Jan 1891 and died 13 Apr 1953 in Kershaw Co. Hattie Walters Spears was born 23 May 1894 and died 7 Sep 1965 in Kershaw Co.
They are both buried at Malvern Hill Baptist Church in Camden. Also buried there, is their infant son, Ernest J. Spears, born 17 Apr 1917 and died 3 Jun 1918. I have pictures of these gravestones if you need them.
Other children I have listed for Thornie and Harriet include, Ruby, Oleta, Paul and Alex Laney Spears.
Ruby married Fred Turnage. They both lived and died in Patrick, Chesterfield Co. SC.
Oleta married Sidney Elmore Gardner, and I believe they lived in Florence Co. She died in 1992, and Sid died in Florence, Florence Co. in 1984.
Paul was born in 1923 and could still be living. I have no further information on him.
Alex Laney married Sarah Watkins. He died in 2000 and is buried at Sandy Grove United Methodist Cemetery in Kershaw Co. I also have pictures of his gravestone if you need them.
I have further information on the family of John Alexander West and Rebecca S. Gay, as well as John's parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Just let me know what need for this family.
