Dean, I'm glad to be of help. And I'll be glad to fill in any gaps you're missing, if I have any information you need. Where I fit into your lineage is pretty far, actually. Margaret E. West was my 3rd Cousin 3x removed. And Alexander Spears was my 1st Cousin 4x removed. My grandmother did over 30 years of research on the Wests, Youngs and related families, and I inherited all of the stuff she gathered over the years. I have been doing additional research for over 10 years, because she got me hooked, and now my database is quite large. I live in Germany now, which is quite a distance from Camden, but I lived in Cassatt and Camden most of my life. If you need directions to a cemetery in Cassatt, I can probably provide you with directions. I'm good with directions. Just let me know what you're looking for. If I don't know, I can just ask my grandmother. I know she has been to virtually every cemetery in Kershaw Co. I will provide you with the gravestone photos that I have in a private email. Incidentally, I think we have both been wrong about Alex Spears and Maggie West's records. After I posted to you, I did a thorough search on an Alex Spears in NC, SC, GA and AL. There was only one Alexander Thomas or Thomas Alexander Spears, and he was the son of Benjamin Spears and Jane West. I am continuing to look, but right now I have connected the two lines, with Alex Spears (1867-1929) and Maggie West (1873-1944). Those are the dates on their gravestones at Providence Baptist Cemetery in Cassatt. And they are the only Alex and Maggie Spears that I've so far found in Kershaw Co. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of those two stones, but I have a contact in Camden that can obtain them for me. I've sent him a request already. Please look for my private email. Kindest regards, Isabelle Zimmer Schleswig-Holstein, DE Notify Administrator about this message?
