Trying to find Greenwood ancestry
Posted by: David Koelle (ID *****7079) Date: June 28, 2008 at 14:06:52

I've traced my ancestry as far back as I can on census forms, and I'm a bit of a blocking point. I'd appreciate any help with the following.

My great-great grandfather, William Greenwood, was born ca. 1852 in Burnt Hickory, GA; his father, whose name I have not been able to find, was from South Carolina.

Similarly, the parents of my great-great grandmother, Fannie (born ca. 1857, married Greenwood, maiden name unknown), were both from South Carolina.

I realize this isn't a whole lot of information to go on. I'd appreciate anything that others might have discovered, and I would also benefit from any tips in finding hard-to-find parent and maiden names!

Thank you,
David
