am seeking the ancestors of James William Hagan, b 1832 possibly in Barnwell Co. SC. His parents lived and died in Hampton County, South Carolina. They died in some sort of epidemic. The doctor (Lawton) took J.W. and his twin brother, Jasper, to raise to manhood. J.W. worked for the doctor as overseer of his plantation. Jasper never returned from the War Between the States. James was a soldier in the Confederat Army.

In 1880, he was a blacksmith who lived in Sylvania, Screven County, GA. Died 1907 in Orangeburg,SC. and is buried in Sylvania City Cemetery.

Married to Ann Elizabeth Edenfield. He is my greatgrandfather and I have the lineage from him down, but no further back.
