Where do I find land records for land received in 1772?

George and Mary Ray received land in Berkeley co SC in 1768 and 1772. The area they lived in later became Newberry co SC. I can not find records showing who they sold their land to and when they sold it. It might be becaus of the Revolutionary War. Where could I find those land records after 1772 to see who George Ray sold his land to? When the US won the Revolutionary War did land owners keep the property they received in land grants from England? Thanks,Ross
