My gg/grandparents,Enoch Knight b.1801 Newberry Co,SC,m.1827
in Henry Co,GA,to Faithy Baker b.1810 Abbeville,SC. Enoch's parents were Richard Knight and wife Martha ?. Does anyone on this forum have any information on this family? Trying to
determine who Richard's wife was...Some believe that she was a Martha Satterwhite. Would like some document, etc. for proof. Hoping someone has a family bible, knows of a church record, etc, any documented local history. Where would one search for family history from this area? Enoch moved to Newman, Coweta/Cowela Co,GA. In 1839 family moved with their seven children, to Teladega,AL. In 1843, Enoch died from gas while working down in a well. (This was written up in a Taladega Watchtower?) Faithy Knight, and her children moved near Rockford, Coosa Co, AL, and received help from her father-in-law and brothers & sisters-in-laws. Enoch's and Faithy's son, John Walter Knight,(my g/grandfather) m. Lucinda Warren, and one son was born to them. They parted ways when child was 7 or 8 yrs old. Later married Emily Jane (Dennis) 1.Anderson/ 2.Knight...Anyone with information on this family, possible knowledge of Richard's wife's parents, and any other family information...please contact me at butterflywings@bellsouth.net
