I am researching Wm Davenport and his wife Sarah. This Wm died abt Nov 1805 (Will Probated). In his (1803) will he named his wife and two daughters. His daughter Jemima Davenport marr to Charles Neal/Neil (surname Neal has many variants). They are my ancestors. Wm Davenport had another daughter Amy (in some records her name looks like Anny) Amy marr to John Kelly. There were several John Kellys about Newberry about this time period (late 1700's-early 1800's) Many seem to confuse them. It seems that this John Kelly, h/o Amy Davenport, marr to her in 1792. Amy died 1816, John may have died abt 1825 (but after 1824) because apparetnly his son Isaac Kelly was appointed Guardian to his two younger sisters (Rebecca & Abigail) in 1825. I would like to know who this John Kelly, h/o Amy Davenport, was the son of. Many (in the online databases) seem to confuse the various John Kellys! I would also like to know more about my Charles Neal. PER some of the records, he seems to be 'connected to' a Jonathan Neal and another Charles Neal all of Newberry SC (late 1700's). In the records one Charles designated as Sr, the other as Jr. Then there is a Charles ONeall mentioned in a 1799 deed record with Abijah ONeall and Hugh ONeall who are named as the sons of William, dec.d, but relationship of this Charles (witness) to Abijah & Hugh is not specified. I do not know if this Charles ONeall is the same as Charles Sr or Jr. mentioned above. I do know that Abijah ONeal marr the daughter of Samuel Kelly. So perhaps a "cluster of families" here. I have pasted below a couple of my 'Quick NOTEs' regarding my Davenport/Neal/Kelly group as so many seem to get this family wrong. Also noting that 'my' Charles Neal removed to Giles CO TN with many of his family. If anyone on this board can help me with my puzzle, or answer any of my questions, it would be very much appreciated. Thank you, Debra ~*~*~*~* NOTE: Filed 8 May 1828 p.104, Newberry County, SC Equity Records 1818-1844, Will Book M & N with Annual Returns, Will Book I, Miscellaneous Annual Returns, by Sandra J.
