Debra, I have located more information about the family Neal/O'Neal/O'Neall/O'Neale/O'Neil, etc. I was still reseaching and came across some very interesting information and wanted to share it with you. Apparently, Hugh O'Neall was the imigrant to America in 1725. Follow through all of the different sites listed and see what you can find. http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~joneall/famhisty/JBONletr.htm http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~joneall/famhisty/annals_newberry_26.html All of the Newberry, SC, Neal's, O'Neal's, O'Neall's, and O'Neill's are related one way or another. This shows the first O'Neall came from Ireland, settled first in Delaware, then mirgrated through Virginia to Laurens County, SC, then to the Bush River area of the 96th District- now Newberry County- South Carolina. The first Hugh O'Neall was the youngest son of the house of Lord O'Neale of Shanes Castle, County Antrim, Ireland. Please let me know what you think about this after you research. Hugh's son, William, shows to have lived on the SW side of Bush River by the grist mill, which is where we have visited and located where my Charles Neal's had once lived as well.
