There certainly were quite a few Neal/ONeals about the area of Newberry SC.
Not sure if they all relate.

Jonathan Neal of great interest to me also. I believe that he is somehow connected to our group.
I had wondered if one of the Hugh ONeals had son Charles (the elder), and this Charles the elder had a son Charles (the younger). Just a big guess on my part trying to make it all fit, but no more than that. Much more research needed. Still going back to Jonathan. Maybe he was a brother of the elder Charles.
Also, this site (from your link) seems to list two fathers of the John Kelly who marr to Amy Davenport. I had several candidates myself, but not sure who his parents actually were, & it looks like I am not the only one who is looking to give John Kelly (h/o Amy Davenport) his parents ;-).
All of these families intermarried at so many levels, not a wonder that folks mix them up. deep sigh.
Thanks again for the link. I had seen John Belton O'Neall's "The Annals of Newberry", but had not seen the sketch on the Kelly family of Newberry.
