I'm looking for information on my ancestor James Lewis Green/e Jr. who was born October 8, 1797 in New York and died September 7, 1895 in Pickens, SC. He's normally listed only as Lewis Green/e.
He was married to a women believed to be named Elizabeth in Alabama. They have issue. I do not know their names.
He later moved to SC and married Margaret/Margret Lockaby in 1849. Margaret was born 1829 in Greenville, SC and died 1904 in Liberty, Pickens, SC. They are both buried at Liberty Cemetery.
Lewis and Margaret had the following children all surnamed Green/e:
Naomi Maxine m. Lockaby
James Madison m. Malinda Key
Mary Susan
William Bailus
Stephen
Talulla
Larua Mary
Joseph
He listed himself and both is parents as born in NY in the census of 1880.
I have found a Green/e family in NY around the same time who have sons James and Lewis with grand children James Lewis but I cannot connect the families.
