Absolom Brown of Sumter County, South Carolina-1815

My gg grandfather was Absolom Brown. In 1873 he applied for his Pension for the war of 1812-the records show that he enlisted October 13,1814 and was discharged 6 months later. The record also shows that his place of rendezvous was Sumterville-which was 15 miles from his home-and that he was discharged at Charleston-which was 105 miles from his home. Does anyone familiar with Sumter County and/or Sumterville know about places that fit this description? We also think his father may have been William Brown who was a Revolutionary Soldier and who applied for his pension and was 70 years old in 1821 in Sumter County. I would appreciate anything that might apply to this request.
