Charleston Daily Courier, dated Tuesday, Sept. 12, 1865. DEATH OF MAJOR WILLIAM HAYNSWORTH, of Sumter District- It is with feelings of deep regret that we announce the demise of Major Wm. Haynsworth, an old and highly esteemed citizen of this state. We cannot communicate the sad intelligence to our readers in more appropriate words than those used by our Sumter correspondent who writes under date of the 10th as follows: Majoe Wm. Haynsworth died this morning at his residence in this town. His health had been rapidly declining for some months, and he has gone at last to his eternal rest. He was was one of the oldest citizens and the oldest member of the Sumter bar. His character was one of transcendent moral beauty and his life a daily illustration of Christian excellence...his death will occasion a blank in our community which will be painfully felt. ---- [ this is not my family ] Notify Administrator about this message?
