Howdy from Texas,
I would like to be in touch with Helton researchers concerning the history of the Hilton and Heltons in your area. Seems like they went all across the lower parts of the United States. Two of these families filed Guion Miller Cherokee Apps. in 1907. They both point back to SC but I might be missing something. I need help with the Lancster area to figure this set of Hilton's out.

Jahial Hilton was living in GA. His family filed on him and there are probably about 8 apps. to the Government for tribal payment and acceptance. I noticed that there is an older Jahial Hilton in Lancaster and wondered if anyone has made that connection.

The other family with Cherokee apps.

William Joseph Hilton out of Burnt Corn, Monroe Ala. b. 1799. Many say he is from Lancaster but the applications say that he was born in Sumter District. I check the 1830 census and there is a William Hilton there that is the right age to be his father.

There are probably about 8 applications back to this family. Several move on down around Livingston Polk, Co. TX. Flomaton AL, and several areas around Monroe AL. There are about 16 kids listed in this family.

To all concerned the list on the Guion Miller apps. show
Where they were born
their birth date
Their children
their mother and father (happy Mothers day)
Their brothers and sisters
Their grandparents
dates and locations

You can view a couple of these apps on the Helton Family Gen Forum. http://genforum.genealogy.com/helton/

We extend an open invitation to all Hilton and Helton and Hylton researchers to respond and participate in the DNA web site for these names. Lets figure out our families.

Blessings
Mike Helton
