Marsha -- thanks for the York reference. There were a lot of intermarriages between the Blacks and Dosters. Nancy was a very common name among the Black descendants and at the moment I cannot identify the Nancy Black that married John Doster. I have had other correspondence alluding to John's 2nd wife as Nancy Black, but I've no factual info on that. My ancestor Joseph's older brother James (1813-1891) married Jane Doster (ca1815), a sister of John and Mary E. These Blacks were descendants of John C. Black of York Co., and most are buried at Sizemore Cem., Lamar Co., AL. John C.'s wife was Elizabeth and some researchers claim her surname was "Smith" -- but again, no proof.
