Winifred Darnall Kendrick, widow of william Kendrick, married as her second husband Stephen Smith of York Co., SC.
They had about 8 children before his early death.
I descend from Stephen through their oldest son William Preston Smith. William, his wife Nancy Russell, and their family moved to Winston Co., MS after 1833.
I have been told that Daniel Smith who married Winifred's sister Elizabeth Darnall was a brother as well as a John Smith...all of this area. Can someone please help me make a connection for my Stephen Smith?
I was also told that a mr. Hart made a study of these mith families and left a manuscript which is in the York County Historical Center. Could someone check it for me? ANY help will be appreciated! Arlina
