I've been researching the Scaggs through their relationships with the Larricks. Pinkney A. Scaggs married his first cousin, Cora Lee Larrick. Pinkney's parents were Isaac Pinkney Scaggs (b. 1802, d. 1870-1880) and Rachel Larrick (b. 10/16/1817, d. 2/20/1887), Cora Lee's aunt. Cora Lee's parents were Jacob Bright Larrick (b. 3/12/1926, d. 10/22/1887) and Mary Ann Scaggs (b. 8/23/1830, d. 12/4/1891). Mary Ann was also Pinkney's first cousin. Pinkney and Cora Lee's common grandparents were George Larrick (b. 12/4/1770, d. 6/11/1849) and Rebecca Brinker (b. 9/22/1779, d. 12/26/1851). Pinkney and Mary Ann's common grandparents were James Scaggs (b. abt. 1774, d. abt. 1822) and Mary Brinker (b. 12/26/1770, d. 1856). Mary and Rebecca Brinker were sisters. Their parents were George Brinker and Rebecca Bowman.

Pinkey and Cora Lee's children include:
Mary Elmor Scaggs (b. 5/1888) m. Walter Randolph Harr (b. 1875), 6/29/1911 in Branchville, Md.
Mildred Lee Scaggs (b. 3/1890) m. Lewis M. Shipley (b. 1879), 7/1916.
Rachel I. Scaggs (b. 9/1891) m. David L. Hazard, Jr. (b. 1889) 1912.
Lucy D. Scaggs (b. 5/18/1894, d. 1/13/1989), never married.
Edna K. Scaggs (b. 12/1897)
Lillian Scaggs (b. 1901).

The 1900 census indicates Pinkney and Cora had lost two children, which accounts for the Pinkney and Daisy you found. Do you have birth dates/places and death dates/places for them?

Thanks,
Brad Larrick
