So far Lewis is a perfect 25 marker match to Jonathon Moon: b.1770 and likely his brother Mordecai of Amherst County Virginia
No one is entirely sure who is father is or where he came from: but the odds are he came in fron Pennsylvania as Moon is a Welsh surname: and thats where most of the Welsh Quakers lived at the time who had come on the suggestion of Penn
The Moon family was prominent in Tuscumbria
Another genetic match is the Jonathon Edwards: b. 1700 from Perkiomen Pennsylvania: also Welsh
I have not researched any Edwards lineages in Tuscumbria
What is clear though is that Lewis father was Welsh..so far any known Welsh carried the name Sayers not Sears......and slightly south in Bristol there are some Siers and possibly Sires.
In general though: Sears is not a Welsh name.
