A. Brice SCAGGS adopted by J.R. Ferguson

I found Brice Scaggs Ferguson (b.Feb 1870, Hempstead Co. AR) in the 1900 census living with J.R. Ferguson & his wife Mollie - they are Brice's adoptive parents. With Brice is his wife Mollie Eason and their two children.

So I know now that J.R. Ferguson is indeed the adoptive parent of Brice as this is actually stated on the census. This couple has no children of their own. This too is stated on the 1900 census.

Still no leads on who Brice's birth parents are. All I know is his mother is Sarah, and father is someone Scaggs. Brice has two brother's Elias Scaggs b.1860 and Henry Clay Scaggs b.1863. All three children b. in Hempstead Co. AR. Henry Clay is adopted by Simon T. Sanders family of Hempstead County. Per one source Brice was 6 weeks old when parents died.
