Yes, there certainly are lots of Williams!!
Do you know anything about your William born in 1841 (son of William born 1816-KY)? Such as, where he lived his life and any wife and children?

I am trying to locate the father of my great
grandfather. His is listed as Will Skaggs
on my great-grandfather's death certificate.
This death certificate state Will was born in
Texas and his wife, Kate Moffett, also born in Texas.

However, on two census records his son,
Lewis Adolphus Scaggs (my g-grandfather), has his father listed as being born in Missouri. I think the earlier records are
probably more correct. The Will I am looking for lived in Indian Territory in 1879.

Anyway, I know this is a long shot, but I always take note of any William's from Missouri!
