My MANKIN family also lived at deep Hole inheriting 260 acres in 1771 from the daughter of John Wood who owner nearly 3,000 acres bought from John Walker in 1694. They sold their portion in two sales in 1791 and 1794. The graves for the buyer Peter Trone and his wife are in a small wooded lot, maintained by neighbors near Bel Air Plantation in Minnieville, VA., which I assume was a submanor of Deep Hole Plantation. I am very interested in your map, as I guess the Deep Hole Plantation extended rather far inland to reach Minnieville. does the book mention any Mark Mather Mankin or Josias Mankin?
