The surname Scarf has many origins at various different times in history. The surname Scarth comes from the Norwegian settlers or Orkneyk, Scotland who took their name from the term settiscarth which is the name a distinct type of hill in the Orkney's.
I am researching the origins and the migration patterns of the Scarf families.Any information regarding any relevent Scarf/Scarth/Scharf(or any variant spelling)would be appreciated.
