Tom,
My gg-grandfather was Gottlieb Schaber b. about 1850 or earlier, married Margaret Zulauf. Thier daughter Emma was born 3-12-1876 in Waverly(Pike Co.)OH. She died 9-1-1954 in Yakima,WA. Emma married William Olsen of Sweden 9-16-1896 in Boulder Creek(Santa Cruz Co.)CA. They settled in Scotts Mills, and Marquam(Clackamas Co.)OR.
Her first born was my grandfather Peter Olsen. Note I say/write 'her' because my grandfather was born in Jan. of 1896, 9 months earlier. Emma Schaber and William Olsen's marriage produced 9 or 10 more children all born in OR. Emma must've had brothers because there are quite of few Schabers buried in a couple of small cemetaries in that area. And, my Uncle Rodney talks of Schabers living close by during his childhood. Hope this is of some use to you.
P.S. I note the name 'MCCONNELL' you list as the person that compiled some of your info. What a coincidence(sp?) that my grandfather
married a McConnell also born in Marquam,OR.
