Thanks for your comment back then.
I did find out what I needed to know. My Dorothy Schenk married to Fred came from Bleckede by Dahlenburg. The immgrated about 1866. Her father was Heinrich Wilhelm who had settled in Tete des Morts,Jackson county Iowa.It turns out the Schenk family connected with Rieckens, Michel, Schoop, Wiess, Schroeder all in the same area of Dahlenburgin Bleckede which is all in Luneburg stadt of Wendland area which is next to Elbe River. All Niedersachen.lady ofPetesch Hoerschelmann tree has done some good work on that family.
I am not sure about the Minnesota Schenk connection with Becker. I know shirt tails settled there.
But I did find the history of the Ed Schenk in Wabeno or Schwano. It's been awhile since I looked it up. Not sure if I ever found out where in Germany they came from. But Eds wife was Letha Martinfrom the Wieland family/ Stolley/ Meyer connection in Western northern Iowa.
