Judi, be careful about what you put down for place of birth. Deutschland (Germany) did not exist until 1870 and the end of the Franco-Prussian War.
When the Scherrers lived in the greater Homburg area, they were living in the State of Saarland, under the Occupation of the Catholic Bavarian King. The official term for the place they left was Bayernische Saarland. It was, in fact, the wars that brought Bavarian rule as well as the new Catholic king and his oppressive taxes that led to the Scherrers and many others in my line to leave.

I do have a lot of the same information that you do on families, although I would like to know how you confirmed all this information, or did you find it already listed somewhere as I did.

I have much of the origional information copied with me from my trip. When I have enough time to go through it, sort it, translate it into English and apply it, I will be a happy man.
