Hi Helen,

I found it interesting that your Elizabeth's daughters were named Barbara and Mary. The Barbara and Maria I found on the "Elizabeth" with Wilhelm were 16 and 20 in 1853. Mary would have been born in 1833 and Augustine's son Joseph would have been only 11 years old. I'm not sure of Joseph's birth date, but his mother was born in 1797. Even if he were the first son it's unlikely he could have been born before 1815. He would then have been 18 years of age when Maria(Mary) was born. I suppose it's possible, but I suspect your Joseph may be Augustine's brother.

Adam's brother William (Wilhelm) was my ggrandfather.

I plan to try to pin down the place of origin in Germany. I'll let you know if I have any luck.

Jack
