Hi,

Is anyone out there researching the SCHLEICHER family in the village of
Heisebeck, Hessen-Kassel in the years 1780 to 1840? Ernst Friedrich
SCHLEICHER, age 19, had permission to leave for the USA, from that area,
in 1840. His parents were Heinrich Christoph SCHLEICHER and Christina Regina nee ROELCKE.

Ernest Frederick SCHLEICHER/SLIGAR, born 14 May 1821. He died 14 April 1895 and is buried in Stone Church Cemetery, Ohio Co, WV.
Married Sophia AMIER/EIMER in 1843, in Ohio Co, (W)VA.

There were SLIGAR/SLIGERS in KY and other WV Counties in the 1800s, but there is no known connection. All other SLIGARS in Ohio Co seem to be his descendants.
