My gGrandfather arrived in New York on June 1, 1853 from Breman. There were also two young female Schleichers on the passanger list. I was unable to find them in the Lawrenceberg, IN 1860 census. I can't find their names in my notes. (This information is several years old). One may have been an Elizabeth. My gGreatfather joined two older brothers in Lawrenceberg, IN. (Ripley county is the next county west of Lawrenceberg.) My ggrandfather had an older brother Joseph.

I haven't tried to research in Germany, but I believe they came from the town of Nassau in Saxony. It is about 40 miles southwest of Dresden.

If you find further information, I'd like to know.

Thanks. Jack Schleicher
