So wonderful to hear from you. Remember in all of this that I am not sure that our Josephine westjohn and the Lampings are rlated so I don't have a lot on the Lampings. Here is the information that I do have:
The 1870 Hamilton County Cincinnati Ohio census reports
dwelling address 117 ? street
Head of House Lamping Fredrick 36 years Male White Plummer Value of realestate $15,000
Value of personal estate $500 Born Oldenburg Germany father and mother of foreign birth

Elizabeth 29 Female white Keeps House born Bavaria mother and father of foreign birth can not write.
John 7 Male Wjite At School born Oio mother and father of foreign birth attends school with in the year
frank 5 Male White born Ohio M&F foreign
Elizabeth 3 Female white born Ohio M&Fforeign
Westjohn Josephine 18 Female white Domestic servant born Oldenburg Mother and Father of foreign birth

This Josephine westjohn is my great great grandmother with out question.

cincinnati directory does list her as a domestic servant however the address for her place of work is not the Lamping home. It is listed as 394w.3rd. she was a servant but not in their home.

1920 Hamilton County census lists at 3532 Bevis ave. cincinnati Ohio
Lamping head of house Julius Renting Male white, age 41, Married ,yes read ,yes write born Ohio, father birth Ohio, mother birth Ohio, can speak english, ocupation Plummer in shop

Catherine wife female white can read can write born OhioFather birth ohio, Mother birth Ohio, can speak english

Helen daughter F, W, 11 single, attends school can read and write and speak english. parents born Ohio

Julius Jr, son M,W,6 single, attends school

Marion daughter F,W,3 single

Carl J. son M,W,1yr 1 mon.

at 3536 Bevis lived my Great Grandparents listed on same page of census
Bridge ,Harry Head of house Residence owned free of mortage, Male white 54 married can read ,can write born Ohio father born England, Mother born Ireland, can speak english, Plummer in shop

Clara Wife F,W,45, can read , can write, Born Ohio,Father and Mother born Germany, can speak English.

Harry Jr. Son M,W,Single 17 born Ohio parents born Ohio, Pressfeeder at Printing??
(my Grandfather)

Paul M,W,14, Son attends school born Ohio, parents born Ohio
Walter M.W,11 son attends school

The above mentioned Clara Bridge is the daughter of Josephine Westjohn Radeke

After Harry Sr. died , Harry Jr moved into the home at bevis to care for his mother Clara. Harry jr had married bythen to ann and had 2 children Pauline and Harry Gibson Bridge (my father born 1932) .

My father remembers this family of Lamping.
Julius went on to have other children and it is the younger group that my father ran with.
I took a chance and called the Lamping listed in the phone book and he did remember my father and said julius was his father and that he had been the last born to the family.
however he did not know if there was a connection between Julius and fredrick.

Fredrick would have been 45 when julius was born however, Fredrick can not be his father because he was born in Germany and julius reports his father as born Ohio.

It is very possible that julius was the son of John who would have been 17 when Julius was born and John was born in Ohio.

The 1890 census needs to be checked

there are a complete set of Cincinnati directories at the Cincinnati Library. I did not look into the Lampings.

Perhaps there is no connection between the families, Perhaps tese are not even your Lampings.

I see to many coinsidences for me to give up on it.

had been married he and his wife
