Hi, John Henry Schlichte, born 11-09-1782, in Goldenstedt, Germany, married Anna Marie Heidman. She was born 02-08-1783 in Goldenstedt and died there on 04-08-1829. Several of John's children, including Anna Maria (Mary) Schlichte (my g-g-g-grandmother) and your g-g-grandfather, John Diedrick Theodore Schlichte, came to the United States. Your great-grandfather, also named John, was born about 1857 in Iowa (New Vienna, I think).
