Thank you for your quick response!! I too have done some research on the MUSSELMAN/SCHMALING families. At the National Archives, Regional offices near me I found this....
1840 Census Lancaster Co. Pa. E. Hempfield Twp.
David Mufselman Pg. 105
Males 5 & under 10 2 (could be Benjamin & ?)
15 & under 20 1 (Samuel)
40 to under 50 1 (David, age approx. 50)
Females under 5 1 (Mary)
5 & under 10 1 (Susan)
15 & under 20 2 (Catherine & Elizabeth)
20 & under 30 1 (Susan/Susannah Schmaling)
Next, on the 1850 census for same township etc. I can't find the widow, Susannah, anywhere!! But I did find this...
Susan Musselman age 17 F. Pa. living with a Isaac(?)Steward (?)age 38 who is listed as a Laborer.
I also found....
1850 W. Hempfield Twp. Lancaster Co. pg 176
Adam Dombach 39 M Farmer Pa
Catherine 32 F wife Pa
John 13 M son Pa
Mary Musselman 10 F Pa
So, maybe these two could be the children of David and Susannah? But what happened to Susannah?
Let me know what you think.....
