First, it's always great to hear from another SMALING researcher! I am descended, through my mother, from John S(ch)maling (born 1805), son of Johan Georg Schmaling (born 1780).

Congratulations on your detective work on Christiann! I believe you are right.

From Zion Lutheran Church records, as translated by Luther Heisey, I found:

"Marriages," October 21, 1849, George Meisley (Lancaster) to Christina Schmaly, "at Mr. Schneiders house".

This supports the "Misky" 1850 Census information, September 12, 1850, as to their marriage taking place within the year. Christiann's age also is correct for her birthdate.
