Hi Walter,

In all of the research I have done on the Schmaling's last name I have not seen it spelled that way. The Schmaling last name is from the middle ages,and was first found in a town called Schleswig-Holstein Germany.

Do you know where they migrated to? once they came to the states? There are a lot of Schmaling's in WI
