Christian Schmidt and his wife Wilhelmina Licht came from Mecklenburg-Schwerin in 1867 to Madison County Illinois-- Nameoki Township near Granite City. They had a boy Herman Edward (1873) and a girl Fredericka (1875).
Herman moved to St. Louis MO around 1900 and married Mary Leuke about 1906. They had 3 children:
Irma Elanor 1907
Alvin F. 1908
Walter H. 1909
Irma was my grandma-- she died in St. Louis.
Al died in San Diego CA in 2001. His wife was Merle.
Walter died in Ft. Lauderdale Florida in 1997. His wife was Sylvia.
Alvin had two sons Donnie (who died young) and David, who I think was born in 1938 in St. Louis.
Walter had a son Robert and a daughter Janet, both born in St. Louis in the 1940's.
I am looking for these decendants of Alvin and Walter Schmidt, to share stories and many family photos of their ancestors.
