I am so intrigued to have found you all. I was chuckling to myself when I read the names, since they were so familiar to me. My grandmother, Florine (Schmiedekamp) Hall, is the daughter of Gerhard Schmiedekamp and Rosie Dora Klaus. She is a twin, I believe born in the middle of all the siblings. My brother, Jared, is named after Gerhard, since Gerhard is the German version of Jared. My grandmother was born in Temple, Texas, I think. That's where a lot of them settled. She met my grandfather, Howard Hall, while he was stationed at Fort Hood. She and a cousin or two have put together a huge book regarding all the family tree information they researched over the decades. I know that there is quite a bit on the Schmiedekamp side but almost the entire story of the Klaus side. I'd be more than happy to share it with any of you.
