Schneider Family Genealogy Forum

My wife has a copy of a page from a family bible, in German, which records the death of a Conrad Schneider on March 8 1891 in or around Drake, MO (Gasconade County). I am wondering if Conrad was the brother of Casper Schneider, my wife's great-grandfather, who emigrated from Sursee, Switzerland (about 30 miles from Bern) around 1856 and died on his farm in Drake on June 22 1893. There's clearly some connection, since Conrad's and Casper's death records are adjacent in on the page.
There's more. Casper married a local woman called Louise Miller, born about 1850 and one of eight children. Louise's younger sister, born about 1855, seems to have been called Delina (though it's hard to make out the name precisely, since it's from a copy of a handwritten page from the 1860 census). So I'm wondering if the brothers Casper and Conrad married the sisters Rachel and Delina (Delila?).
Here's another wrinkle. The parents of Louise and Delina emigrated from North Carolina. The census doen't list the race of the father (George V. Miller). The race of the mother (Rachel Dixon or Dickson) is listed as black. The race of Louise and Delina is listed as mulatto. My wife is quite interested in learning more about her black and mulatto predecessors. We don't know anything about genealogical research (I found your message using a search engine) and I would appreciate advice from you or anyone else who reads this board.
Let me know if you would like copies of any of our documents.
