There is no Wijuker board on any website, so I'm posting this here as Schneider was my Grandma's Married Name.
I am looking for any Information about the Wijukers, a small Manhattan-based family that arrived from Russia and Germany.
The only information is what we have from the NY 1900 Cenus:
Parents:
Father: Sussman Wijuker, born in Russia, Nov. 1853, immigrated in 1884, Saloon Keeper in Manhattan. May have been Jewish, but we're not sure.
Mother: Bertha (Maiden name unknown), born June, 1851. Born in Germany. Was probably Catholic.
Daugter: Annie Wijuker, born Sep 1885 in New York. married Lucius "Louis" Wilhelm Schneider and ultimatley moved from Manhattan to Staten Island, NY.
Daughter: Rosie Wijuker, born April 1890 in New York. Married a "Conlan" and had at least two sons, Peter and Edward. The family stayed on Staten Island.
Daughter: Allie, married a "Jack"
Looking forward to finding another person who's heard of the Wijukers!
