John Schneider, settler in Ohio 1869

We are looking for the family of the German Emigrant John Schneider and his descendants in the USA, maybe in the state of Indiana. Unfortunately we don’t know the exact birthplace and birthday in Germany. He must be born in our region of Franconia in Bavaria/Germany.
We know John Schneider only by 4 letters, written in German, and a wonderful photo which shows himself as soldier in the US-Army, made about 1868. The letters have been written between 1861 and 1869. He wrote fully about his life in the States and as soldier in the US-Army from 1855 to the end in 1870, where he was a "Private" an at least "Sergeant Ce. G. of the 18th US Infanterie". The wife of John Schneider had probably the family name "Baden" and a daughter unknown name. His son "Pauli", which was subscribing his short lines in English as "Paul John Schneider", was serving in the army at the same time (1868).
In 1869 John Schneider bought a farm with 100 "Morgen" (acre) land in Indiana for 800 $. The place could be nearby Cincinnati, because he made another contract there.

Who can help us to find the descendants of John Schneider? Thank you in advance.
