I have an Anton Schneider born 6 Sep 1834 in "Ruhr" Prussia, according to obit. Married Margarethe Steichen in 1855 in Ruhr. Children were John B. Schneider b. 13 Jan 1863 in Aachen, Peter J. Scneider b. 4 Apr 1865 in Koln, Anna Mary (married Mathias Fischbach), Joseph, Mary (m. William Reilly), Anthony who married Philomea Foth. This family emigrated 1873 and settled in Dyersville, Dubuque Co., Iowa. Anton Sr. had a sister named Anna who married Bernard Keuter and settled in Nebraska. Both Anton and Anna's death certs list father as Joseph Anton Schneider with mother as "unknown".
