My gr-gr-grandfather, Joseph Schneider, had a brother named John who was born in 1840. I know that Joseph served in the 14th Indiana Volunteer Infantry 1861-1865 when he was wounded. He and his family eventually settled in the Cincinnati area about 1868. They then joined a few other couples and went by steamboat to Minnesota. In the late 1800's, their family returned to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area. Joseph and John's other siblings were Barbara, Eva and Josephine. Their parents were from Bayern, Germany. I don't know their names.
