I am searching for my grandfather, philip schneider who was
a portrait artist. he owned several studios with my uncle
august tanquery, his brother-in-law who was married to the
sister (sarah olive cody) of philip's wife (jenni cody). the studios were under the name of tanquery
in new york city, brooklyn, paris, france and baltimore.
this was around the late 1800's to early 1900's.
I believe the schneider family came from alsace-lorraine.
august, at one time lived in Normandy, france
I would appreciate any information.
