Hi, I am looking for information on a Jacob Schneider(10/26/1752 - 10/27/1840) who might be the son of Benjamin Schneider. Jacob married Mary Magdalena Gerhart(4/26/1759 - 3/30/1835) she was the daughter of Johann Peter Gerhardt and Elizabeth Schmidt. The children of Jacob and Mary are as follows Henry(1/26/1781 - 1/2/1872), Elizabeth(6/16/1783-), Catharine(5/9/1786-), John George(5/9/1791-6/23/1791), and Isaac(5/17/1793-). Henry(son of Jacob) married Anna Maria Nyce(2/26/1786 - 5/3/1844), they had Benjamin(1/18/1807 - 9/11/1879), William H.(6/7/1811 - 12/16/1897), Alfred(3/1/1813), Simon(5/25/1815 - 9/26/1843), Maria(12/5/1817-), and Elias(6/5/1820 - 5/1/1883). William H.(son of Henry) Married Mary Ann Knabb(6/10/1819-) they had Sarah Ann, Henry William, Ellen, Rosa Ann, Susan, and Martha. The majority of this Schneider family resided in Montgomery Co., PA. Schneider, Brought together 105 of the descendents of this old family. Relatives were present form all parts and many had never met before. Dinner was served on 2 large tables. Judge Schwartz, of Norristown delivered the address, and Miss Alice Gilbert, of West Phila., a splendid elocutionist recited several selections entitled, "Independence", Woman's Rights", and the "Curfew must not ring tonight." Mr. Schneider is now 82 years old and spent his whole life on the homestead. The present house was built 102 years ago, but the original tract came into possession of the Schneider's 175 years ago. Henry Schneider and Mrs. Dr. Frances H. Knipe, of Pottstown; Mrs. A. F. Saylor of Lower Pottsgrove, Mrs. Henry Ritter of Boyertown; Mrs. J. S. Stauffer of Swamp; Mrs. Milton Leidy of Swamp and Harry Alderfer, of Phila., children of the venerable host were present. A brother residing in Ohio was unable to be there Among others present were Mrs. Hannah Heffeltinger and William P. Young and wife, of this borough, Mrs. Reeser and son and Miss Rebecca Evans of Reading.
