Snyder, Samuel, father of John B. was born in Northumberland County, Sept. 27, 1832 and reared in Perry county. He married at Buffalo, Perry County, Sept. 27, 1854 to Margaret, d/o John and Catharine (Raugh) Beigh. Children; Emma, wife of Samuel Cook, Ida, wife of John Bidge, John B., Margaret, wife of
John Carpman of Niles, Mich., Edward A. Serna, wife of William Klaiss, Steelton, PA., Alice, wife of Benjamin Bomgarder, Harrisburg, David, who died 1874, Charles, died 1877.
John Beigh Snyder was born in Buffalo Valley, Perry County, May 14, 1802. His great-grandfather was Jacob Snyder, born in Northumberland County. His wife, Catharine was a native of Germany. John B. married at Liverpool, PA., to Kate Ritter, d/o David and Annie (Grubb) Ritter. Children; Earl, born 1884, Harry, 1886, Charles, 1887.
David Ritter, was born in Perry County, he married Annie Grubb, children, Katie who married John B. Snyder, Ella, wife of Elmer Fulton, Allen, Harvey, Ord.
Snyder, Joseph, of Jackson township, born 10/9/1843. His grandfather was William Snyder, his father was John Christian Snyder, John Christian was married Susan Miller born in Jackson township and died 1882,they had 11 children; Nathaniel, Peter, Lydia, died young, Joseph, Ellen wife of Uriah Hegard, Isaac P., Josiah, Mary M., married William McNeal, Susan A., wife of Nathaniel Shutt, C.Frank and William R.
Snyder, John D. of Berrysburg, was born in Lykens township Dauphin county, Dec. 9, 1827. The great-grandfather came from Germany and settled in Lancaster county before the Rev. War. Leonard Snyder, grandfather was one of the 1st settlers in Lykens township. He was a farmer. He married in Lykens Valley to Amanda Sholt, a native of the valley, and their children were; John, Samuel, and Elizabeth. The grandfather was a Democrat and a member of the German Reformed Church.
John the father, was born in Lykens township, in 1794. He married Anna May Wert, who was born in Lykens Valley in 1799; Children; Jacob, John (Leonard) Emanuel, and died as a baby.
John D., married Hannah Lark, born in the valley, Dec. 26, 1827/ Children; Jennie, Mary, Rachel, Joseph, Arthur L., John T., Elizabeth, and Edwin.
Snyder, John D., was born in Annville, Lebanon County, Aug. 17, 1844. He was the son of Frederick and Christina (Speece) Snyder. John D., married in 1876 to Elizabeth, d/o Henry Poorman of Lebanon County. Children of John D. and Christina; Minnie, David, Clarence, Jonathan and by adoption, Alice Lutz.
Snyder, Peter, married Joanna Shipman, their daughter Jemima B. Snyder, was born Sunbury, Northumberland, she married Dec. 1, 1835 to Lot Bergstresser, born April 4, 1807.
Snyder, William H., a pharmacist, was born in East Hanover township, Sept. 24, 1871. He was the son of Peter C., and Mary A. (Kauffman) Snyder. His parents were native of Berks County. The father was a physician near Reading.
Snyder, William, Grantville, PA., was born in East Hanover township, Dauphin County, Nov. 7, 1819, son of the late John and Sarah (Hoofnackle) Snyder. John the father was born in Dauphin County, 1788 (July 21). His wife also a native of Dauphin County, children, William, Lucinda, who married Henry Shriver, kate Anne, married George W.Miller, Mary, who married Joseph Krautzer, Eliza, Daniel and Jacob.
William Snyder, married Aug. 12, 1849 to Sarah Pancake, d/o Valentine and Catherine (Shreedley) Pancake. Children; Clara, Alice the wife of Allison Balbough, Elmer E. and Malon H.
Peters, Benjamin Snyder, banker, Middletown, was born in Londonderry township, March 19, 1834, a son of William and Elizabeth (Snyder) Peters. His grandfather, Jacob Peters, was a native of Lebanon county and died there. He married Barbara Buley of Lebanon, PA. Their son William Peters, was born in Londonderry, now Conewago township, Oct. 27, 1811, his wife was Elizabeth, d/o Abraham Snyder, a native of Switzerland. She was born in Londonderry, April 15, 1812.
