Matheis Schneider, Jacob Schneider with his wife Magdalen and Christian Schneider with his wife Susanna Margretha with 56 other Palatinates and their families, sailed from Cowes, Isle of Wight on the South cost of England, July 7, 1729, for America in the ship "Allen". They originally came from northern Switzerland, near the boundary line of Baden and Wurtemberg, Germany. Some time before coming to America they found their way to Holland, from which country they were sent to England. They soon found their way to Weber-Thal, Lancaster County, PA., where their friends, George Weber, Henry Weber and Jacob Weber, Swiss Mennonites had settled a few years earlier.
Christian Schneider had land (warrant dated 10 Jan 1733), 138 acres of land on the north and south of Conestoga creek. He erected a cabin on the south bank. In a deed to his son, Christian wrote Schnyder, in his will, he signed it Sneder and in a patent deed it was spelled Sneeder, later we find it written Schnader, Sneider, Snyder, Sneder, Snader.
Michael, the 4th son of Christian, on Nov. 25, 1766, married Eleanora Mueller, d/o Leonard, one of the early Huguenot settlers of Earl township, Lancaster Co. He and his brother Christian erected a barn on the tract of land originally taken up by his father Christian, in 1781. He died Sept. 2, 1831, and Eleanor died Sept. 22, 1821, in her 79th years. Michael and Eleanora left 5 children; Christian, Michael, Lenora, Sophia, Susanna.
Christian Schneider, eldest son of Michael, married 1st to Marggreta Diller, d/o John Diller, who was the son of Hans Diller, who was the son of Casper Diller, who came from Heidelberg, Germany about 1733 and settled at Millcreek, Earl township. His wife died Aug 6, 1827, in her 46th year. He married 2nd to Susan Schneder, widow of Jonas Schneder, but had no children by that union. Christian Schneider by his 1st wife, Margreata had children, Catharine, the wife of Benjamin Witmer, Magdalea, wife of John Messner, Margaret the wife of John Plank, Caroline, wife of John Koser, Isaac "Schnader"married Susanna Weaver, Christian Schnader married Elizabeth Yohn, and Michael Schnader, married Lydia Schnader.
