I. Casper Snyder, ancestor, from Germany, came before the Rev.He was a large land owner, having nearly 1000 acres including what is now part of the Updegrove farm, the Thomas, Peter, and Adam Snyder farms, the tract owned by Dennis H., and Newton Snyder, his great-grandsons. He was married to Elizabeth Farst, he was born May 2, 1745 and died Sept. 3, 1821. Wife Elizabeth, was born Feb. 5, 1754, and died Aug. 12, 1823. Children; (1) John, born 1776, died 1851; (2) Polly, born 1782, married _______Updegraph and had 3 sons, and 1 daughter (Isaac, Thomas, Adam, and Sarah); (3) Peter, born 1783, died 1826; (4) Sarah (Sally) married John Hendershot (1790-1851) and died 1863. (5) George born Sept. 3, 1785, died Feb. 9, 1812; (6) Casper (lived in Sunbury and had Thomas, Simon and a daughter, Catharine, who married John Cooper, they had one daugther Mary); (7) Catharine who married John Silverwood;

II. John Snyder, son of Casper, was born in lower Augusta township, Nov. 20, 1776, he married Maria Margaret Fisher (aka Peggy), the only sister of Christian Fisher, is buried at the Presbyterian cemetery.
