George A. Jenks, attorney-at-law, of Newtown, Bucks County, son of Dr. Phineas and Amelia (Snyder) Jenks. Amelia (Snyder) was the d/o and the oldest child, of Gov. Simon Snyder.

Jenks. John or John S. Jencks, soldier's father was wouned and died soon afterwards, leaving a widow, not named, and 3 children; Sabrina, John Seymour and obaidah, the son of John Seymour was was born 1768 or 1770 at Providence, RI and after his father died he was apprenticed to one Samuel Whipple of Ashford, CT, the brother of Commordre Abraham Whipple, and soldier distant relative by marriage. And the said John Seymour Jenks enlisted at Ashford, CT and in 1780 as a drummer boy, soldier named his mother's brother John Seymour. Soldier followed the sea from Dec 1783 to 1794 and in 1795 he settled in Orange Co., NY and he applied there 25 May 1818. In 1820 he had a wife, Penelope aged 45 and children, David Webb,24, Obadiah Seymour,22, Amelia Ann,20, William D. McCoppin,18, Almira Caroline,15, Moss Webb, 14, Judge Nelson age 12, Theodosia Bull, 10, Virgil Bennett, 4,and horace Wiltshire, 2. In 1828 soldier was living in Northumberland, in Luzerne County, PA. A Jonathan Jenks of Phila., was referred to in 1820.
