John A Snyder, son of Johan Jacob, born March 29, 1803, married 1st Maria (Schollenberg) she was the daughter of Benedict and Christian (Moyer), 2nd wife Judith (Diehl) a native of Berks County, a d/o Michael and Sarah (Schollenberger) Diehl, her mother being the sister of Maria, his 1st wife. Judith Snyder, died Jan. 30, 1907, aged 90. By his 1st wife, he had 8 sons and 7 daughters, Solomon, Michael, Benjamin, Jared, Aaron, John, a son not named, Regina, Susanna and 5 daughters who died young, several close together of diphtheria. The second marriage were born six, three sons and three daughters, Peter D., Jeremiah, Tobias,born Dec. 11, 1851, married in 1880, to Emma Reitz, d/o Jonas and they had (James L., who married Mary Schreffler and they had three children; Charles, Florence and Dory, C. Howard,married Teney Smith and they had 3 children, William, Helen and Flossie, Ira C., married Minnie Snyder and they had 2 children, Ambrose and Edna D., Francis married Mary Rebuck and they had 2 children, Emma and Sarah, Jennis M. married William Schreffler, brother of Mary (who married James L. Snyder and they had 2 children, Lloyd and Anne) Hannah, who married David Schoffstall, Lydia, who married John Schoffstall, brother of David, Sarah who married James S. Reitz.
