Dr. George H. Markley was born in Lancaster, In 1863 he moved to Harrisburg, he died May 11, 1900. He married Emma Snyder, d/o of Charles and Emma Snyder, of Harrisburg. Charles Snyder was a JP. Col. Matthais Slough, he came to Lancaster as a lad of 14, with his father, in 1747. The Col., was the father of a large family, 7 sons and 4 daughters. One of whom, Mary, married Gov. Simon Snyder. The wife of Col. Slough was Mary Gibson, the d/o Col. George Gibson. Amos W. Newcomer, was born March 6, 1861, he married Mary S. Snyder, was born in East Donegal township, a d/o Christian and Fannie (Stauffer) Snyder, of East and West Donegal townships. Her parents dies on the farm where her father was born. He died Sept. 2, 1886 at th age of 68. The mother died Sept. 1863 at the age of 34. They are buried at Kraybill's cemetery. They were members of the Mennonite Church; Childern; Mary who married Amos W. Newcomer; Jacob of Mt. Joy; Mr. Snyder married twice, his first wife being Mary Garber, and had children; Levi G., who died young, John G., a farmer of Mt. Joy, Anna G., who married Christian Newcomer of Rapho township, Christian G., a farmer of West Donegal. The paternal grandparents of Mrs. Newcomer were Henry and Maria (Witmer) Snyder of Lancaster County. Henry N. Eby, twice married, first in 1860 in Lancaster County to Mary Franck. She was born in Warwick township, she died Jan. 3, 1876 age 35, and was buried at landisville, she was the d/o Christian and Catharine (Snyder) Franck. Amos F. Eby, son of henry and Mary (Franck), he married Oct. 17, 1889 in Rapho township to Anna Reist. Mrs. Catharine (Garber) Reist, the mother of Mrs. Amos F. Eby, was born in West Donegal township, May 19, 1833, and was the d/o John and Catharine (Sechrist) Garber. The father, was a farmer, and he died in 1842 Children. Michael, Mary who married Christ Snyder, Anna who married John Longnecker of W. Donegal, Barbara who died young, John, Christian and Catharine. Her paternal grandparents were Andrew and Maria (Nolt) Garber of Lancaster county, and her maternal grandparent were of the Sechrist Family. Joseph Slack, He died Dec. 20, 1900, at 86, he was married to Elizabeth (Brower). Joseph Slack was born in Chester county, his wife died at age 76. Both are buried at the cemetery of Christ Episcopal Church in Leacock township. They had 6 children; Anna, who married Samuel Snyder of Leacock township.
